Hurricane Sandy is due to hit the headquarters of bmj2k.com and The Editors and Staff of Mr. Blog’s Tepid ride urge you PANIC RIGHT NOW! Loot the sneaker stores and stock up on hot iPhones, this is the time to throw caution to the wind and riot because WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!

Although I am very certain that this Frankenstorm will kill me, I have made contingency plans for the website. Assuming you survive the weatherocalypse, beginning Wednesday, bmj2k.com will redirect you to http://www.december212012.com/CDC.htm, the official countdown clock to December 21, 2012. the storm may have gotten me early, but you will be joining me soon.

And if the storm gets me, I’m taking Allan Keyes with me.

Assuming things go on, what will you see on this site?
Allan Keyes will look at Halloween, The Teutuls will clash over their new project, I will share my Memories of Frankenstein, a family puts up a poorly worded Craigslist ad, and of course Saturday Comics. All this, and I WILL SURVIVE SANDY, this week on Mr. Blog’s Tepid Ride.

Hmmm. You should stock up on supplies & get a small, gasoline – powered generator, methinks.
This is proof that climate change is NOT merely a ” liberal fantasy ” – Even ” Tornado Alley ” isn’t strictly confined to the Mid – West & Mid – South anymore, from what I’ve read.

Don’t get me started. “Global cooling” became “global warming” became “climate change.” Liberals change their philophies on a dime. But yes, climate change is happening. HOWEVER, I in no way believe that it is caused by humans. Some scientists are basing that claim on no more than 100 years of data, ignoring that fact that the Earth’s climate changes on a millenial scale, and the our data is such a fraction of the necessary data to claim humans had that impact that I don’t have the room to write a fraction small enough. They also ignore the obvious impaact that the solar cycle has been having on our weather, and they further ignore the fact that similar climate change has been documented on other planets in our system, which bolsters the solar cycle theory and undermines the human caused theory. So yes, climate change is real, but no, we have no idea if this is normal cliclical change or not, and it is silly to use our paltry data to say that man has caused it. So why the huge outcry about it? Much if it is by well-meaning people, but much more is by huge companies making a lot of money on carbon credits and other initiatives. It all comes down to money.

One of the British papers within the last two weeks published a story about how global warming has more or less stopped over the last few years. Scientists suddenly claim that they expected this all along. Really? No matter what the weather does to refute global warming, pro-warming scientists say “it fits our model.” Even if it looks good it is really bad. Funny how you never see those models until after the fact. (And no, I have not changed terms, I define global warming and climate change quite differently.
