Before we get to the Number One Sitcom Halloween episode, this might be a good time to inform you that this is a countdown.
I probably should have mentioned that sooner.
Anyhow, later this week, I’ll unveil the best Halloween Sitcom Episode. Will it be the Leave It To Beaver where Beaver accidentally carves a squash instead of a pumpkin? Or that Three’s Company episode where Jack and Mr. Furley spend the evening in the pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin? Or even that Happy Days episode where Fonzie eats a can of ravioli over a hot plate? Sorry, no, you are a couple of months too early for that one.
But while you try to contain your excitement, here is the runner up, and the only thing keeping it from being Number One is that it is not, technically, a sitcom. And not Halloween either. But it’s funny and they are wearing costumes so that is good enough for me.

I know, I know, it is inevitable that I will get emails telling me how funny SNL used to be and how much it stinks now. I’ve heard it all before, yada yada yada, but don’t let that stop you from emailing me anyway. Mr. Blog leads a sad and lonely life.
