These were taken at the Brooklyn Musuem. Of course there are no Muppets here, these pictures show great examples of wonderful art from Africa.

I LOVE tribal art / Folk art !! The museum in my hometown had an exhibit of Tibetan Thangkas, along with Tibetan monks designing a sand mandala shortly after Sept. 11th 2001. Before that, they had Incan / Chimu art ( Mostly ceramic offering jugs ) from Peru. Our university campus museum had Egyptian art ” permanently ” on loan ” from the Oriental Institute in Chicago, including a bunch of animal mummies & 1 human mummy.
I myself have some Ethiopian Coptic crosses including large wooden processional cross in my place.
Fantastic !!

This museum may not be as big as some of the others in NYC but it is pretty impressive.

I would pay to spend a week there. A cot, a lawn chair, keep the restrooms unlocked after the place is closed, let me set up a mini – fridge, & I’d clean up after myself. I’d like to go back to the Smithsonian. I’ll bet I could spend a month there. My step – brother visited The Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia. Peter the Great had some pretty unique & WEIRD items there, I understand.
