This is a companion to yesterday’s post. This wonderful chalk artwork was in front of the same San Juan, Puerto Rico café as the alien picture from Sunday. It makes you wonder how the course of history would have played out if only the beverages had been better in the past.

Great artist, but he was an alcoholic who had major emotional problems. I had a mug with a reproduction of his ” Starry Night ” on it.
They even had an absinthe with a painting of him on the box the bottle came in. Talk about IRONIC.

I knew nothing about his alcoholism, so this sign makes a lot more sense to me now. 🙂

Between his alcoholism & mental problems, I’m surprised he got any work done ! He only SOLD ** one ** painting during his career, or so I’ve heard.
I guess he did ” Art for art’s sake “, & was 1 of the 1st starving artists….. 🙂
