Imponderable #21: New York City / Ghana

14 Oct

October 13, 2011

This one is a little wordy. (I got it from the New York Times. Their Motto: Tea Party bashing on page one, other news begins in section C.) I’ll post it at the end of this entry. However, the News of the Weird summary says it all.

How lousy is it in Ghana if the Chief of the Akwamu people spends half his time in New York City in a smelly garage?

The question is Imponderable.

And before you rush to judgment, the article states that the Chief has a ten-room palace and his office has judicial powers. Plus he gets to bless the yam harvest. Granted, ten rooms is not much as far as palaces go, but how big is your palace?

So despite having a palace and a seemingly cushy life, the Royal Couple travels to NYC to work in a smelly garage.

I ask you again, how lousy is it in Ghana if the Chief of the Akwamu people spends half his time in New York City playing Louie DePalma in a cab company?

The question is Imponderable.

And I hope you got the Louie DePalma reference.
