I wish she would have warned me.
Due to an incident which I am too humble to describe (it involved a burning house, a baby, and a team of cheerleaders) I hurt my leg pretty badly and the combination of pain (bad) and painkillers (awesome) kept me away from the blogging action for most of the week. I am still going to accept the blogging awards I’ve been generously awarded, but it will wait until the week of the 19th, giving me more time to make my acceptance speeches properly humble.
This week, Allan Keyes goes retro and I’ll forego the Summer special Classic Repost for a week in favor using Tuesday to kick of a three-part event, This Is Where I Live, which will run Tuesday through Thursday. And the best part? It is already written.
Have no fear, the Imponderable and Saturday comics will still end the week on a note. High or not is up to you to decide.
With certain painkillers, ” High Notes ” aren’t an option. How’s the leg ?
Oh yeah, I’m going to give ” COPPERS ” on BBC America a look – see next Sunday. I can’t promise a review, but just an overview flyover / fly – by, if you’re interested. Apparently NYC’s Five Points area was a lot like the Old West in this treatment.

I am happy and sad for you. Sad for your owy, happy for your drugs! And happy you’re still able to communicate with your loyal followers! So the award nominations are stacking up huh! I like to think I’m being a hoarder regarding the very thoughtful nominations I’ve received in the last few weeks. I was thinkiing about nominating you for a few of them. You know sort of going with the flow kind of thing. Seriously hope your leg gets better soonest. You are in my thoughts, Penny

Thanks so much. My leg feels much better, that’s probably just the meds, though I am already walking without the cane. Stairs still make me cringe but otherwise I am better than I expected to be just a week after the injury.
As for the awards, some time back I was given the Versatile blogger award and I was again given that award just a month ago. I also recieved from you I Belong and the Inspirational Blogger Award, all three of which I plan to follow up with by next week.

Maybe you could write a fictional story about how you hurt your leg? Suppose you pretend you were in Bali and a certain female cow was in your panorama…
I also have a question: why do blind people never play the banjo?

Fictional? Every word I have ever published has been nothing but the truth… although I may be lying.
As for your blind banjo player question, I think I’ll just toss that one to the masses and see what teh interwebs say about that. I suspect it is because the sighted people around them keep moving the banjos so the blind people can’t find them. Very cruel…

Ah how cruel! Or perhaps ppl replace the banjo with old time popcorn poppers and confuse them.

I think that one of the guys responsible for ” Coppers ” also wrote for ” Homicide : Life ( ? ) on the Street “. It sounds almost like the movie ” Gangs of New York “. They both give early NYC an ” Old West ” feel, & I have to wonder if it was really that way, historically.
There’s just 1 thing that could be a problem, they apparently have a young girl portraying a child prostitute. Sensitive subject…..

& I’m waiting for an NCIS / BONES crossover ! Seely Booth finds out that he’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ illegitimate son, or maybe Gibbs is his uncle, something….. One can hope.
