First I wrote about the Caribbean Crazy Ants.
Then it was Frankenstein Ants.
Now this:
Does anyone else see the pattern? These ants are getting smarter all the time! And bigger! And better organized!
If you will allow me a moment of panic, please let me say WE ARE ALL FUCKED! Next week I fully expect to read that ants have developed fully opposable thumbs and are using tools, then it is goodbye humanity!
What can we do? WHAT CAN WE DO???

Better ants than cockroaches. Cockroaches seriously FREAK ME OUT. More than spiders. They’re filthy, they scurry about scavenging waste, they carry germs & they look bloody disgusting altogether. Ants have a place in the ecosystem. So do spiders. Cockroaches look like something that would scare the poop out of Ripley & the Colonial Marines. 😉

Spiders ( & BATS, may I add ) are nature’s pest control agents. They rid farms & rural homes of smaller vermin, & a flawlessly – designed spider web can be a work of art when the light hits it just right.
ANTS can plow the earth, & turn vegetable matter ( dead or living ) into compost.
WHAT HAVE COCKROACHES DONE FOR US ( Besides look uglier than home – made sin & freak people like me out ) ?

Although the ancient Egyptians might see a resemblance to a mutated cousin of the scarab / sacred khepresh beetle in the cockroach.
