The Saturday Comics: Star Hawks

September 3, 2011

It is easy to dismiss Star Hawks as a Star Wars ripoff, but what wasn’t in 1977? However, this strip has a great pedigree. It was written  by Ron Goulart and then Archie Goodwin, and illustrated by Gil Kane. (And if you don’t know who any of them are, you better be off to google.) With creators like that, it is a shame that it only ran from 1977 to 1981.

I love Gil Kane’s art, and the strip is total 1970’s. Enjoy.

All this, Saturday Comics looks at a Gil Kane classic, and more, this week on Mr. Blog’s Tepid Ride.

However, great as all that is, the big news is THE RETURN OF THE AMERICAN CHOPPER WEEKLY RUNDOWN! Be here right after the show Monday and see what happens with the Cadillac Build-Off!
