Don’t look for great compositon here. These were taken on a cell phone camera while avoiding cars and looking for breaks in traffic.
This was taken across the street form where I work, downtown Brooklyn. There has been an amazing amount of construction and big business development. The riveted tin can-looking thing on the left is the edge of a new skyscrapper and yes, it is all condos.
What caught my eye, as it probably did yours, is the top of the building in the center. It seems to me as if it is an orphan, the odd left-over relic of days and buildings gone by. It was apparantly connected to some other buildings, now it is just a lonely, strange, edifice.







Very peculiar indeed, there’s an incredible mixture of styles and eras in this picture, I almost expect totally different people to come out from each of them – gangsters from the 30’s, married couples from the 50’s, young artists from the 60’s… odd.
