Late Night Movie House of Crap: Burt Ward Edition

OK, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am just not going to get to Konga and Gorgo. Frankly, it’s all to the good. This month we spend some time dealing with one of television’s lesser lights, Burt Ward. Why is this in the “Late Night” series? Because most of his work doesn’t deserve to see the light of day.

From his imdb page:

Batman (1966-1968)
The New Adventures of Batman [cartoon] (1977-1978)
Tarzan and the Super 7 [as Robin] (1978)
Legends of the Superheroes [as Robin] (1979)
The Simpsons [as Robin] (2002)
Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (2003)

“Jeez,” you are undoubtedly saying. “Didn’t this guy do anything else?”
Well yes, he did, but they are things like:

Robot Ninja (1989)
Hot Under the Collar [as The Pope- yes, The Pope] (1991)
Virgin High [Dick Murphy] (hee hee) (1991)
Karate Raider (1995)
Assault of the Party Nerds 2 (1995)

You get the point.

Anyway, Burt Ward was born on July 6, 1945 in Los Angeles, California. That information is of absolutely no significance whatsoever, but anyway, we present this collection of Burt Ward as Robin, and his “holy” exclamations. Enjoy.

Um….what? Burt freaking Ward played the POPE and you just let that slide on by without any sort of real comment whatsoever? You’re not on your game lately

      Here you go:
Jerry tries to seduce his girlfriend Monica via hypnosis, but it accidentally makes her want to enter a convent and take a vow of chastity instead. Jerry tries to get her out by disguising himself to a priest and later as a nun. Alas, his rescue attempt crosses paths with a mobster who looks for his hidden stolen diamonds in the convent. Things get even more complicated when the pope himself decides to pay a surprise visit.

I seriously wonder if he got that role due to this ‘Holy’ deliveries.

It’s like he was auditioning for that role his whole life.

I’ve often wondered Batman needed Robin (and Superman needed Jimmy Olson). Other than cause trouble, they don’t seem to add any value.
