Not crap, but definitely acquired tastes.
I bring you 1965’s Doctor Who and the Daleks, and its sequel, Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 AD.
Both are loosely based on the long-running British tv show Doctor Who, but Peter Cushing never played the role on TV.
If you’ve never seen the show before, and have no idea what the robot-things are, this can get pretty trippy. Sit back, relax, and let’s go back to the swinging 1960’s.
Here is a sample from the TV show featuring the second actor to play the Doctor, set to The Beatles.
Next month- King Kong ripoff Konga and Godzilla ripoff Gorgo, two more British “epics.”
In a weird bit of turn about, Gorgo ripped off Godzilla, then the American Godzilla (w/ Bueller) ripped off the Gorgo Mama/Baby story mechanic.
Also, I would follow Cushing into any film, no matter how hinky.

LOVE Cushing, any film, any time. The one good thing I will ever say about the Star Wars prequels is that, in some sort-of way, it reuntied the Lee/Cushing team, even if they had no screen time together.
The American Godzilla? The less said about that the better. Many people needed to be badly treated after that film came out.

I definitely need to check this out…
These movies must be cool if they managed to steer clear of MST3k…
Cushing looks great as Dr Who…

Interesting films. The second is almost a faithful version of the TV show, but Cushing is nothing like any of the guys (11 now) who have played the Doctor.
