This Day in History: Pepperidge Farm Cookies

10 Jul

July 10, 2010

It was on this day twenty years ago that Pepperidge Farm cookies first coined their motto, “Pepperidge Farm Remembers.”

It replaced the slightly menacing “Pepperidge Farm Never Forgets,” which itself replaced the more ominous “Pepperidge Farm Holds a Grudge.”

I didn’t know Pepperidge Farm had a motto–but I’ll never forget Chessmen! My favorite junk food.
