Thanks for the heads up on Hot In Cleveland. I’m not sure it will ever find its way down here.
But guess what? I was born in Cleveland! Really. And I lived 79% of my life to date there. My parents and brother and sister still live there I was there this time last year taking the air as Jane Austen would put it (but not the way she meant it, I’m sure).
The only thing I can say about the videos is that most men in Cleveland don’t have whiney voices like the singer has!

When I was there, the people were very nice. Roberto Alomar had just been traded to the Mets and was stinking up the stadium. The Indians fans all told us, (it seemed like all the fans in the stadium said it) that he’d turn it around and we’d love him. They were all sorry to see him go. Well he turned nothing around and no Met fans were sorry to see him go a couple of seasons later. Jim Thome was huge there at the time, and McDonald’s featured the Thome Triple. I never had one, I am either sorry or relieved to say.

Those were the days! I still wear my Cleveland Indians sweatshirt and follow the Tribe. Aside from the weather, Cleveland’s biggest problem is that they’ve had atrocious city leadership forever. The city kept going because of big money from the huge auto and steel companies there. When they folded up the emperor had no clothes. Because of the leadership they haven’t been able to reinvent themselves the way Pittsburgh has.
