Picture Postcard: Baseball Season

I passed this planter as I walked down Ocean Parkway here in Brooklyn, towards Coney Island yesterday. It’s in front of a very large building that has nothing to do with baseball.

This is Brooklyn, however, and Brooklyn has a very well-documented baseball heritage. Click here to read about my own family connection to Sandy Koufax.

However, this particular planter has some history itself. It was a member of the 1986 World Champion New York Mets!

I’m not sure where that planter came from, but I  do have a sneaking suspicion.

Think DC Comics Will Sue Me?

It is no secret that I am always looking for a way to make more money. This blog doesn’t run on unicorn horns and Booty-O’s, you know. Anyway, I’m going to open a bowling alley. I’m going to name it after my great-aunt Lois, and call it Lois Lanes.

Think DC will have a problem with that?
