May 21, 2011- afternoon
I saw this sign on a closed store and had to snap a picture. It is less a sign than a portent.
They know something that I don’t. “Important reason?” “Tanks”? Something bad is brewing, but it is a comfort to know that the owners will be close in case we need them.
And is there anything more inconvenient than a tank?

Only the rapture.

Oh, that thing. But seeing as how this is a barbershop run by fairly strict Middle Easterners they may not have the Rapture in mind.

LOL – Is the entire county illiterate? I’m thinking yes, pretty much.

Let us know if you see any “convenient” tanks rumbling down the street.

Oh, boy, this is simply awesome! I laughed my teeth out! 😀 It doesn’t qualify for engrish.com (since it’s not been taken in an eastern country), I’m afraid, but I’ll, give it a try just the same. However, it sure qualifies for being saved to my hard disk, so thanks! Sorry: tanks!

You might not be so sure it doesn’t quality if you saw the neighborhood.
The sign has been up for a couple of weeks but i usually pass on the other side of the street and only walked on that side a couple of days ago. The first time I passed it I had nothing to take the picture with so the next day I made sure to bring my camera, and all the next day until I got there I was sure it would be gone. It has been a few days since I took it and I am starting to wonder if the place will ever open.

Hey, and they used duct tape! Now that truly brings quality to the sign. Maybe they are covering an inconvenient tank with duct tape to make it convenient.

For me, the fact that it is printed and not hand written is a big plus too.

Not really Engrish, perhaps, but for years I thought the name of the thing was “duck tape” and I wondered where the odd name came from. Then one day I saw it written somewhere…

You are not alone. I see and hear that all over. And now there is a brand of “Duck tape.”
