There is a bit of debate with my brother as to whether or not the Outdoor Spider-Man set is actually official or not. He thinks that companies do stuff like that for foreign markets. I am not convinced.

    Handsome appearance!

This whole post is packed with fantastic. I love Batman on a skateboard, but better yet is the group package suggesting that you “Collect Them All!!” – how many more could there possibly be? There’s already three Bat-suits in that one package that even George Clooney wouldn’t be caught dead in.

The skateboard Batman was originally posted somewhere by (I believe) Matt Cowen. As for the group of Batmen (Batmans?) I like that one towers over the others. Is he the leader?

George Clooney generously says that he killed the Bat-franchise (in that iteration) but the blame falls entirely on the shoulders of Joel Shumacher.

Couldn’t agree more – Schumacher on any project is a death kiss of cheese and ripped-off style.

As a fan of all things Engrish, this post got me rolling on the floor till I worn out the tiles 🙂
I don’t know how you got the Engrish language down so perfectly, if it is entirely yours, then you’re even more of a genius than I thought 🙂
And I definitely want the Sense of Right complete collection! And the Gao Ranger Dino Thunder box, too, which has got no ranger, no dinosaur and no thunder in it, but it’s got everything else but Daisy Duck!
Jeff, I can’t upload this to engrish.com because it’s not a picture, I just copied it from a taiwanese DVD, so I’ll paste it here for you (I showed it to the RR guys some time ago, too), I just love it 🙂

I did this before in a blog back in 2007 with mixed results: https://bmj2k.com/2009/11/13/super-fun-time-happy-blog/

Yes, it was entirely mine. This time around it was ridiculously easy. I knocked it out in a couple of minutes and only changed on word. “BATSMAN selection will make god of you to youth with awe of respect!” originally ended with awe of respectation! It was more fun than I have had in a long time doing a blog. It was a blast.

I also snuck in the bad-translation video game classic “Now all your base are belong to us!” just a few weeks ago in this blog https://bmj2k.com/2011/05/04/may-news-roundup/

Oh! Funny you should mention Daisy Duck. Her husband Donald was slated to be the subject of this week’s Saturday Comics but I found something obscure and amazing for this week and bumped Donald to next week.

Yep, this time it sounds totally natural – you should do a little research, you must have some oriental blood in your veins ;-P
(nothing to do with anything, but somebody suggested I might be of Celtic descent, but how do you verify something like this?)

Poor Donald, I worry for him ;-P

I am generally of European/Eastern European decent. All my life my family believed that my grandmother on my father’s side was born in Poland. After she died my Dad and I were going through her things and we found her birth certificate which said she was born in Russia. We were floored. A little research cleared it up. She was indeed born in Poland but the document was issued at a time when Russia has taken control of Poland, hence Russia on the certificate. My other distant relatives come from many different parts of Europe but I am third generation Brooklyn. I have very often been mistaken for Scottish or Irish but I don’t have a drop of that in me- as far as I know. I suppose a DNA test could clear up your Celtic confusion. There would be certain genetic markers, I believe.

Don’t worry about Donald, he comes out fine. It is a really nice 1936 strip which shows his dark, murderous side. Seriously, he tries to murder Goofy.

I’d have expected Goofy to kill Mickey The Stuffed Shirt sooner or later, but Donald.. wow, this is quite a shock!

OK, I’ll do Donald this week and shift the obscure one to next week. Coming this week: Donald Duck attempts to murder Goofy.

Omigosh, this post sounds just like some of the spam comments that make it through the filter. Genius!

By the way, my daughter just purchased a vintage battery powered Batcycle toy (with both Batman and Robin on it and still in the original box) from an estate sale. One just like it sold for $425 on eBay and we’ll be listing it soon.

I love that sort of thing! It’s out of my price range or I’d bid. If that is made of tin I’d be over the moon. Tin toys, especially character toys, are a fave.

I looked at the comments in the spam folder just this afternoon and some of them are funny but there is a small bunch of scary ones too.

Thanks! Like I said upthread, this was an absolute blast and so easy it just about wrote itself. I have an idea on how to do something else like this but I am going to wait at least a couple of months.
