This week, the not-quite-battling Teutul clan took the act on the road to Sturgis, South Dakota. Sturgis is the site, every August, if the country’s biggest biker rally.
It was also the home, from 1996 to 1999, of an annual WCW wrestling pay-per-view event, Hog Wild (later changed to Road Wild after Harley-Davidson sued.) While never the best or most popular pay-per-view, it was infamous for losing money time after time. WCW would set up the ring in the middle of the field and encouraged the bikers to ride up to ringside and watch from their bikes. For free. This event was totally free to attend. While most ppv events generated thousands just from ticket sales, this one, year after year, generated zero dollars. And the event was so bad, with the wrestlers usually caught up in the biker festivities and not in, um, “prime shape,” it had a terrible buy rate and it always hemorrhaged money. So why did they do it? The man in charge was a motorcycle fan and wanted a yearly trip to Sturgis. No wonder they went under.
And since we are talking wrestling in an American chopper blog, this gives an excuse to bring back my favorite “separated at birth” picture.
Anyway, back to the show, and why am I so happy? As Jim Morrison sang,
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes…again
Until next season.
Lets get the only source of anxiety out of the way early- DID THEY RECONCILE? DID THEY DID THEY DID THEY?
No, silly. Of course not. Senior bad-mouthed Jr. in a magazine article and Paulie took the high road, which is smart but boring. We want a fight!
Anyway, the Scooby gang went down to Sturgis, Paulie to unveil a pair or bikes and Sr. to show off his unimpressive drag bike.
Why was it unimpressive? The impressive parts of the bike were the electric motor and batteries, neither of which he had anything to do with. The rest? Just a long, ugly bike.
Paulie, on the other hand, made a pair of great looking bikes. Of course, I have long said that the paint job makes the bike, and Paulie had nothing to do with that. And he had little to do with the build- Vinnie did that, and some other guys too. That is why his business is called Paul Jr. Designs, not Paul Jr. Builds. Truth in advertising. (Yes, I know Paulie did the webs- don’t email me about that.)
At any rate, for Paulie, the season ended on a high note. His bikes were built, his shop was up and running, he unveiled his bikes.
For Senior, the season ended pretty anti-climactically. The last few weeks Sr. and OCC had been trying to break a world record. Well, this week they did, sort of. After they unveiled the bike, the owner took it and Sr. got to watch the event sitting in his office, via video. That sort of sums up the entire season for Senior, just another hollow victory.
Strangely, for a season that focused less on bike building than on family breaking, this finale focused almost entirely on bike building, and suffered for it, Honestly, it was boring. The show, which was on the verge of cancellation last season, reinvented itself with the family feuding, and for some reason abandoned it for the last few weeks to the detriment of the show.
On the other hand, most of the feuding was pretty stupid and one-sided, so in this short season of seven episodes you swung from boredom to stupidity. The stupidity, at least, was entertaining. Senior never failed to make himself look like an idiot.
So what did I take away from this season?
You won’t believe how many hits I get from searches for that phrase.

You missed the final ending placard they showed post-credits:
“In Memorium — to the unnamed, faceless workman who died working on Paulie’s shop. May this unknown and unidentified person rest in peace….whoever he was”

I believe that any show where Sr. is making a fool of himself is not boring. Therefore, no AC show is boring.

I’d like to see what a regular day is like for Senior. Watch him shopping for groceries and chewing out the cashier for running out of Fruit Loops, bad mouthing his son to his barber, etc.

LOL that’s funny, Sr. yelling at the grocery store owner for running out of Fruit Loops. I don’t know why that man hasn’t had a stroke yet! I think they all should get drunk and really have at it. I can just see them all crying going I’m sorry son, LOL. Now THAT would be a show.

Jeannie, a drunken Paul Sr.? That is a show I’d pay to watch!

Someone should make Paul Senior the poster child for condoms and Deadbeat Dads anonymous. I mean really who would want that jerk as a parent? Aren’t there insects that eat there young? Why would a guy’s ego be bigger than his love for his own offspring? Or his love of money be greater than his love for his own kids? This idiot will probably change his will and leave it for his dogs, rather than leave it for his kids if it meant he had to suck up and be human. I say: boycott OCC and buy PJD!!! But keep the show on as we watch Senior circle the drain and pout and cry for help. Letz see how big his ego is then. Big ole whah baby!!

Thanks man, but seriously, his kids are more mature than he is. And all those losers left working at OCC are just there gettin paid to kiss Seniors butt. I think Rick (he’s cool) should quit and go work for JR., the other guys can ride the sinking ship to the bottom of the ocean with Senior and that goofy looking kiss hiney designer guy with the jack o lantern face and that dorky laugh can pretend to be Seniors surrogate son while his face keeps gettin loaded up with Seniors poop. I tellya one thing: none of that crap would fly in orange county florida or california.

Rick is the last sane man left at OCC. I think he is there because he is a loyal employee, but at some point he’ll reach his limit and quite. That other guy, Jason, the ape-like fool? He’s just annoying.
As for maturity, when it came to Mikey I had to stop and think for a minute, but yes, in his own, strange and goofy way, he is more emotionally balanced and mature than Senior. And that is saying something.

What is so funny about a family that falls apart in front of millions of people?!
It is my opinion that Paul Jr. is responsible for most of the trouble. If you watch the episodes in order, you will notice that Paul Jr. cannot seem to help adding fuel to his father’s fire, i.e. he has to have the last word.
In the final analysis, Paul Jr. is younger and therefore responsible for patching up this problem. He must understand his father is getting older everyday and at his age, he cannot change.
I know Paul Sr. loves his children…watch the episodes and they usually do something fun and are laughing and even hugging sometimes…(I own most of the episodes on dvd)
This is all very very sad and those of you who are laughing or calling names should look around you and see what troubles are in your OWN familys.

Mary, they put it out in front of millions. That gives us the right to comment. It is not private. It is falling apart in front of millions of people because that is how they want it. The show was cancelled before it was retooled as Sr. vs. Jr. If they don’t have a problem, neither do I.
What is so funny? How about a father firing a replica of his son out of a catapult?
I think there is plenty of blame to go around, but I first and foremost blame Sr. Sure he loves his children, but there is something else going on with him if he has had a falling out with every single one of his sons.

Mary, are you kidding ?? Seriously you have every episode of A/C and you still think Snr is an innocent party… clearly he gives you wet panties, because that is not a balanced viewpoint.
Snr loves fame, money, dogs, fame, loot, motorcycles, beth, coffee, fame, and getting his ass kissed by his staff, but he doesnt love his kids. He admits their childhood was a nightmare due to his drinking and drug addiction, and their adult life hasnt improved. Snr can believe his own propaganda, but no one else other than you are fooled.

Like the RUN DMC song says “MARY MARY why you bugging” if you think Jr. is to blame then you don’t understand what you have been watching , all Sr. does is yell at and embarrass Jr. in front of the whole shop he talks to Jr. like he is his pimp. In other words BUILD THOSE BIKES AND GET MY MONEY B**CH while he sits in the office like a pimp in a caddy looking through the window to make sure his tricks are on the corner working and feeding that damn dog with a fork. You must be crazy you act like you feel sorry for Sr. with all his millions.

I’m with ya bmj2k,
Senior and his family made millions for their family falling apart on tv just to amuse me.
And I really think senior should give Pauly alot more credit for helping him getting that company to where it is today as it was only them two for the first few years, till they got that dick head Jason pool and the bunch of other fuck heads like steve who fills seniors head full of shit all day.
Fuck occ….

I guess the popularity of this saga is being maintained by the majority wanting to see Jnr succeed and his father crumble into the obscurity he deserves – (Snr’s worse nightmare). Once Rick Petko joins the team, it will sound the final death knell of OCC. Who wants a bike designed by Jason (kiss ass) Pohl or that midget sycophant – Mike Amiratti. Great to see Vinnie on board. BTW, is it my imagination or has snr started to shrink>?? and is that a facelift?

I still wonder why Rick P. is at OCC. Do they have him in an unbreakable contract?

I guess it comes down to the bucks.. and lets face it, Snr treats him with respect…. as he should.

The money for sure, especially since you never know if JR will make it or not. As for respect, while Sr doesn’t treat Rick too badly, Rick is without a doubt bottom of the totem pole there. Sr even treats the shaved orangutan Jason better, and Jason is a total jerk (even if he did go to Jr.’s wedding.) Rick goes about his business and does a professional job, and takes Sr’s crap without comment. There is a special place in heaven for Rick.

I agree. I think the “FREE RICK” movement is gaining international momentum. Speaking of unappreciated genius, how about Nub ? I cant imagine why Snr would shit on him, its just plain dumb. I bet Jr was quietly glad to get him on board.

In the recent episode set around Paulie’s wedding, which I’ll write about tonight, there is a Free Rick poster in the background of Mikey’s studio.
Nub is great, but I recall a couple of episodes fairly early on (season 3?) where Nub failed to deliver on time and really messed up Sr’s schedule, so that is probably why they stopped using him.

Sr’s bikes are boring and corny and he relies on the paint to make his bikes stand out , so he needs Nubs more than Nubs needs him. Jr’s bikes stand out without the paint. I’m surprised that he hasn’t built a old school rigid memorial bike to Gus with a sissy bar and a picture of him feeding him steak with a fork. Come everybody let’s stop the nonsense who really believes that Sr. can compete with Jr.? Who really thinks that Sr. doesn’t have a anger problem? Who really believes that all of this is Jr’s fault? If it’s true that Jr. is getting his own show then I guess that this the last that we’ll hear from OCC and Sr. and then lets see who he blames for his problems. Sr. is just a glory hog , he sat back and watched Vinny build bike after bike and didn’t give him any credit atleast he could have let Vinny ride the bikes in at the unveils thats the least that he could have done . It makes me sick to see Sr. ride the bike in on an unveil like he really put work in on the bike , I can’t stand that guy!!!!!!
