I took these pictures last week in St. Maarten. I was sitting on the dock waiting for the water taxi and snapped a few pictures with my Fujifilm Finepix XP80, using the automatic setting. I didn’t crop or alter these in any way. They are just a pair of nice shots from a beautiful afternoon that I was lucky enough to snap. I’ll post a pair that I took on the deck of Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Sea cruise ship in a few days.
These pictures are for Saarah. She’ll know why.

I had the honor of attending a ceremony at the FDNY Training Academy on Randall’s Island yesterday. It is an amazing place, and I’ll probably post more pictures (and a longer post) in the future. One of the many things that caught my eye was this statue, dedicated to the firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. It is located right outside of one of the main buildings on the site.
“This Statue is Dedicated to the Spirit and Service of the members of the FDNY who made the Supreme Sacrifice”
