Not at all! I honestly had to remind myself that I have better things to spend money on or I would have bought it on the spot.

Ah ah, same here 😀 Every time I go to the local Chinese shop I have to use all my self-control to not buy the odd blisters full of ninjas and Gundam rip-offs ;-P No super-heroes, fortunately, so I can resist… barely.

Hmm. All along I’ve called these Japanese rip-offs. Have I been wrong and they are Chinese?

The only way to know where they come from would be to buy them and check, I think (which would be a perfect excuse to buy them ;-P ). This kind of product is generally Chinese (see lower right corner here, for example http://www.collector-actionfigures.com/static/media/uploads/powerrangersbootlegs22.jpg or the Chinese writings on this one http://0.media.collegehumor.cvcdn.com/34/51/b70635f829855adc304f6b327f7c8bf0.jpg ), but I guess they could be from anywhere… this one is from Italy, for example, a concoction of various Japanese super-robots http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery2/gallery/d/531155-1/1.jpg
I tend to say China, but again, the
only way to be sure is by reading the box for the famous “made in…” 🙂

I guess I’ll get around to adding “Chinese” to all the “Japanese” tags I’ve used on these posts.

I was a huge action figure fan as kid. G.I. Joes, Star Wars and Marvel Secret Wars figures primarily.

The Secret Wars line was fantastic. Along with the DC Super Powers line, it was a fantastic era for figures. I still have my Secret Wars Black costume Spidey and, I think, my Iron Man.

I had a few of the DC ones as well. The Flash, Green Lantern and Brainiac.

The Mr. Freeze (which may have been from the Batman movie line but was, I believe, identical to the Super Powers figure) turned blue when placed in the freezer. Mine lived in there for years.
