Remember Kool-Aid Man? The giant living pitcher of sugar that saved the day by screaming “Oh yeah!”?
But this isn’t The Late Night Movie House of Crap, so it is on to the comics. Who thought that Kool-Aid man was a good idea for a comic? Both Marvel Comics and Archie Comics, that’s who. Although they are mixed in the gallery below, the differences between the Archie and Marvel issues is obvious even without the logos. One of those comics below is still in my personal collection. For the record, it is the one where he is in space.
I am also including ads and other material for the Kool-Aid man video game. Yes, I said video game. It had to be a ton of fun, right? Right? Right?

No different than making a movie based on a board game that rhymes with ” Tattleship “. 😉
Kool – Aid also makes frequent guest appearances on the animated series ” Family Guy “, & the stop – motion series ” Robot Chicken “.
& in the interest of good taste, I will forego making a Jonestown reference.

I can at least see how “Tattleship” could translate to a film since the “story” of the game is at the core a war story. But Kool-Aid Man? What’s the story there? A living pitcher who busts through walls?

Ya know, I would love to see his origin story. I’ll bet it involves a lab, weird chemicals, a Cray computer with errors in its software, a jealous rival, & some molecular transmutation device like ” The Fly “. Mwahahahaha !!!
Dr. Ku Lai is presumed dead after a burst of energy & an unexplained explosion in his lab.

Advertising icons often get a 2nd career or another life. Erin Esurance was retired as the Esurance spokes – character, but artistic depictions of E. E. are still popular, not all of them ” family – friendly ” ( Don’t ask me how I know. 😉 ). Then the GEICO cavemen got a website that may still be up, as well as that bomb of a t.v. series.
Do the GEICO cavemen catch the GEICKO gecko, letting Erin Esurance & Flo from Progressive prepare & cook it / him while dressed in a tight – fitting black cat – suit ? 🙂 Dennis Haysbert of Allstate w / narrate.

they still have them on Youtube, Mo Mallady ( ? ) still provides Esurance voiceovers & I had the web address of the company that produced Erin’s animation somewhere. She lost her black ninja catsuit & got a convential business suit when a group of uptight citizens thought she was too suggestive. She was a hot property. At least she’s not living out of her car or eating from a dumpster, etc.
