Finally, I have found a use for Twitter!
I am not sure who would follow the McDonald’s Twitter feed, but I’m glad someone does because this news just broke:
THE McRIB IS BACK NATIONWIDE ON NOVEMBER 2nd!
November 2nd has just become the country’s most important day of the year! THE McRIB IS BACK!
(Oh, it is also some election day thingy too or something.)
From the Wall Street Journal:
Tell your friends! Alert the media! For the first time in sixteen years! the McRib is back nationwide, but only for a limited time! Get on line! Save me a spot!
On the other hand, the last time I had a McRib I didn’t like it very much and it made me violently ill.

The McRib is good and all, but what I’m really missing is the fabled HULA BURGER (as opposed to Hula Berger, who is a Yiddish gentleman who does my taxes)

Wait, what? I’m not even 30, and I vividly remember the McRib and how awful it looked. You’re telling me that at 12 years old, I cared about what went into my body. I don’t believe that 16 years nonsense.
I do believe the violently ill nonsense, though. It’s ground meat SHAPED like ribs. So freaky.

I didn’t believe the 16 years either, but technically it is true. The last nationwide rollout was 16 years ago, but many markets have had it more recently. There is even a website that locates stores that still sell McRib all across the country.
WhenI was youngI loved the McRib, but the last timeI had one it didn’t agree with me at all.

Totally unrelated – what can you tell me about Superman crossing over with He-Man?

I first saw these on sale a few months ago at TRU. They look cool, but I think they got them backwards. I would have packaged them Superman vs. Skeletor and He-Man vs. Lex Luthor. Still, they are cool sets and come with comic book reprints.
The info below are from a Masters of the Universe fansite, and follow the links for the pics. I’m not the collector I used to be or I would have grabbed these in a second.
(BTW- some church down south, back in the 80’s protested MOTU, saying that only God was the Master of the Universe. It was big news for a short while)

One of the biggest toy-related surprises of the new year was the announcement of Mattel’s DC vs. Masters of the Universe 2-packs, sold not through Mattycollector.com but exclusively through Toys R Us stores. The first pack, Superman vs. He-Man, recreates their famous first meeting in DC Comics Presents #47 and includes a full-sized copy of that comic. The second pack features Skeletor and a reissue of the DC Super Heroes Lex Luthor in his iconic purple-and-green armor, and includes a copy of the second Supes/He-Man meeting, which was a one-shot included in a few different DC comics in 1982 as a preview of DC’s 3-issue MOTU miniseries (one of my personal favorite depictions of the MOTU universe).
Luthor doesn’t appear in either comic (both of which are drawn by legendary Superman artist Curt Swan), but it was a shrewd move to include the DCSH Luthor, who’s still scarce enough that the set will entice both DCUC and MOTUC fans.

I love those sets…I have them both…The Skeletor is actually my Favorite Skeletor Figure…I love the Simplicity of it…
Yea basically Superman got randomly Zapped to Eternia somehow and I actually forgot both books…I remember reading them and saying “is that it?’ Totally unsatisfied with the Story…Curt Swan’s work is Awesome as usual tho…

I love Jim Lee’s Superman, but I think Curt Swan is the
definitive
Superman artist.
The only thing that kept me from getting the Skeletor/Luthor set is that I’ve got so many action figures packed away in the bottom of my closet that I just can’t justify buying anymore.
That said, I’d rush out for a Star Wars size (3 3/4?) Skeletor.
