Wondering what movie to see on date night? Allow me to humbly suggest…
A*P*E
(AKA Super Kong, The New King Kong, Hideous Mutant, and, er, Attack of the Giant Horny Gorilla. Yes, really.)
From Wikipedia: A*P*E may not be the worst giant monster movie ever made, but it would have to chart high on any Top Ten Worst list. Citing such things as the ape vomiting and the ape dancing to the film score, Bogue states that “this one is so bad it has to be seen to be disbelieved.”……a scene where the titular ape turns around after a victory to give the audience “the finger” sums up the entire film.
That’s Joanna Kearns from Growing Pains in the movie…Which means that that’s Probably Alan Thicke in the Gorilla suit…
I know this movie well…This is Awesome…thanks for posting..haha

I aim to please.
I was looking for the clip where she tells the A*P*E to be gentle with her but it wasn’t posted.
I first heard of this film in the great compliation It Came From Hollywood, which must be seen to be believed.

I stand corrected. I did some additional research and learned that it isn’t a Japanese movie!
Did you see this part? The dialogue is wonderful:

The “ape” in Rat Pfink a Boo Boo is arguably the greatest ape of all time. He dances to beach music, engages in fistfights, and er….takes direction from a gentleman in super tight pants.
I don’t see what’s so good about this ape – what, just because he’s into Joanna Kerns? What that really means is the A*P*E was looking for a tranny w/ a blonde wig and a 5 o’clock shadow but had to settle.

Not to be that guy, but I don’t find Steckler’s work all that funny – even as unintentional comedy. It’s tough to laugh at Rat Pfink a Boo Boo because it feels like the sad product of someone’s home movie editing.

Rat Pfink is totally hysterial if you have a finger on the pause button and play Mike and the bots.
(I mean if you do the Mike and the bots yourself.)

Fair enough – they did save Incredibly —-. I’d definitely be more on board with a RiffTrax release on hand.

How’s this for a double feature: A*P*E and Queen Kong!
